Do I need a doctor's referral to start in-home therapy?
In most cases, a physician’s order is required for therapy to be covered by Medicare or insurance. If you’re not sure whether you have one, our team can help coordinate with your physician or set you up with a qualified in-home doctor to get the paperwork in place before your first visit.
What areas do you serve?
We provide in-home physical, occupational, and speech therapy throughout NYC and Long Island, including Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Nassau County, Westchester County, and Suffolk County. If you don’t see your neighborhood listed, contact us — we may still be able to help.
Does insurance cover in-home therapy?
We accept traditional Medicare for eligible outpatient therapy services delivered in the home, and we participate with select Medicare Advantage plans. Coverage varies by plan, so our team verifies your benefits and explains any costs before your first visit. Private pay options are also available.
What's the difference between in-home therapy and going to a clinic?
In-home therapy brings a licensed physical, occupational, or speech therapist directly to you, so treatment happens in the same environment where you live, move, and complete daily tasks. That means therapists can address real safety risks – stairs, bathrooms, narrow hallways, and eliminate the burden of transportation to and from a clinic. Receiving therapy services in the comfort of home also ensures a one-to-one therapist-to-patient ratio, allowing for individualized treatment plans and hands-on care tailored to your specific needs, goals, and home environment.
What conditions do you treat?
Our therapists work with adults recovering from surgery, injury, stroke, or hospitalization, as well as those managing chronic conditions like arthritis or Parkinson’s disease, or looking to prevent falls and maintain independence as they age.
What should I expect during the first visit?
Your therapist will evaluate your current mobility, strength, communication, or daily living skills depending on the type of therapy, review your home environment for safety, and build a personalized treatment plan around your goals. You’re welcome to have a family member or caregiver present.
How long does a typical course of therapy last?
Every recovery timeline is different. Some patients see meaningful progress in a few weeks, while others, particularly those recovering from surgery or a neurological event, may need several months of consistent therapy. Your therapist will reassess and adjust your plan as you progress.
Are your therapists licensed?
Yes. All of our physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists are licensed professionals with experience treating adults in home-based settings.
Can a family caregiver be trained during sessions?
Yes. Caregiver education is part of many of our treatment plans, especially for occupational and physical therapy, so family members know how to safely assist with transfers, mobility, and daily activities between visits.
